Supplement brand sa likod ng 'Gil Tulog Ave.' signage, humingi ng tawad

Inamin ng management ng supplement brand na “Wellspring” na napagtanto nilang “insensitive” ang kanilang naging marketing campaign na maglagay ng signage na "Gil Tulog Ave.” sa Makati City.

Matatandaang naging usap-usapan sa social media ang viral Facebook post ng netizen na si "Tom Berenguer" matapos niyang ibahagi ang napansin daw niyang ang pangalang ng "Gil Puyat Avenue" ay ginawa nang "Gil Tulog Ave."

Nito namang Biyernes, Hulyo 26, nang kondenahin ni Makati City Mayor Abby Binay naturang street sign, at sinabing hindi ito dumaan sa kaniyang opisina.

Naglabas din ng pahayag ang anak ni dating Senate President Gil Puyat, at iginiit na ito ay kawalang respeto sa kaniyang ama.

Sa isa namang pahayag nito ring Biyernes, inihayag ng managemeng ng Wellspring na wala raw silang intensyong maka-offend ng sinuman sa kanilang campaign at inalis na raw nila ang lahat ng mga signage nang mapagtanto nilang “insensitive” ang naturang proyekto.

“Wellspring is an advocate of health and wellness, including the problem of sleep deprivation, amongst Filipinos,” anang Wellspring.

“It was never our intention to offend anyone in our marketing execution which used wordplay to draw attention to the importance of sleep and how it contributes to one's overall health.”

“After recognizing the insensitivity of the campaign, we have promptly taken down all signages,” dagdag nito.

Humingi rin ng paumanhin ang supplement brand sa pamilya ni dating Senate President Gil Puyat at kay Makati City Mayor Abby Binay.

“We deeply apologize to the family of the late Sen. Gil Puyat for the harm and offense that the campaign has caused them. Rest assured that there was no intent to besmirch and disrespect his legacy.”

“We also would like to extend our sincerest apology to Makati City Mayor Abby Binay and the people of Makati for this misstep,” saad ng Wellspring.

“As we learn from this experience, Wellspring is committed to practice better sensitivity in our campaigns moving forward,” dagdag nito.
