Binatikos ni Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas ang naging pag-abstain ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa botohan hinggil sa resolusyon ng United Nation (UN) General Assembly para sa agarang humanitarian truce sa pagitan ng Israel at Palestinian militant group na Hamas.
Matatandaang sinabi kamakailan ni Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the UN Antonio Lagdameo na ang naturang pag-abstain ng Pilipinas ay dahil sa hindi umano pagbanggit at pagkondena ng naturang resolusyon sa pag-atake ng Hamas sa Israel noong Oktubre 7, 2023, na naging sanhi ng pagkamatay ng libo-libong mga sibilyan, kabilang na ang mga Pilipino.
"The decision to abstain from the UN resolution further exposes the subservience of the Philippine government to the interests of the United States (US)," giit naman ni Brosas sa isang pahayag nitong Sabado, Oktubre 28.

Binanggit din ni Brosas na apat na overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na ang nasawi sa labanan ng Israel at Hamas, ngunit pinili pa rin umano ni Marcos na maging “neutral” sa nangyayari.

Kaugnay nito, nanawagan ang mambabatas sa administrasyon na i-reconsider ang panig nito sa naturang giyera sa Gaza Strip.
"While we recognize the need for the protection of civilians caught in the crossfire of this conflict, it is crucial to prioritize the lives and well-being of the Palestinian people who have been disproportionately affected by the ongoing violence," ani Brosas.
"We call on the Marcos administration to reconsider its stand and side with the people's clamor for justice," dagdag pa niya.
