This is it, pancit!

Napabilang ang Pinoy pancit foods na pancit, malabon, bihon, at canton sa “50 Best Rated Stir-Fry Dishes” sa buong mundo, ayon sa Taste Atlas, isang kilalang online food guide.

Sa Facebook post ng Taste Atlas, ibinahagi nitong top 22 ang pancit malabon matapos itong makakuha ng 4.2 rating, habang pang-32 ang pancit na nakatanggap ng 4.0 rating. 

Nasa 34th spot naman ang pancit bihon matapos ding makakuha ng 4.0 score, habang top 36 ang pancit canton na nakatanggap naman ng 3.9 rating.

Base sa paglalarawan ng Taste Atlas sa website nito, ang pancit malabon ay nabibilang sa malawak na grupo ng traditional Filipino stir-fried noodle dishes.

“It is prepared with thick rice noodles doused in a flavorful shrimp-infused sauce and usually incorporates various seafood ingredients such as shrimps, squids, or mussels. The dish is often served topped with hard-boiled eggs, pork cracklings, sliced cabbage, and fish flakes,” saad nito.

Ayon pa sa kilalang food guide, tulad ng pangalan ng naturang pancit ay nagmula ay nagmula umano ito sa Malabon, at tradisyunal itong inihahain sa mga espesyal na okasyon.

Samantala, ang top 32 naman umanong “pancit” ay may Chinese origins. Ang pangalan nito ay nagmula sa Hokkien phrase na “pian i sit” na ang ibig sabihin ay “convenient, cooked fast.”

“Pancit is a staple Filipino dish found at numerous feasts and celebrations, consisting of stir-fried noodles with meat and vegetables such as chicken, pork, shrimp, celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and cabbage,” anang Taste Atlas.

“Over time, pancit evolved and became a signature Filipino dish, so today, there are numerous variations of pancit such as pancit canton and pancit bihon. Egg noodles are used for pancit canton, while thin, translucent rice noodles are used for pancit bihon,” dagdag pa nito.

Pagdating naman sa pancit bihon, sinabi ng Taste Atlas na binubuo ito ng rice noodles na sinamahan ng hiniwang baboy o manok at iba't ibang gulay.

“The dish is infused with soy sauce and it is usually lightly seasoned with lemon juice.”

“Just like other pancit varieties, this version is often found at numerous street stands throughout the country and is a staple dish served on special and festive occasions,” saad ng Taste Atlas.

Samantala, inilarawan ng kilalang food guide ang pancit canton bilang isang Filipino dish na mayroon ding Chinese origin.

Binubuo umano ito ng pinagsama-samang yellow wheat noodles at iba't ibang karne, seafood, at gulay, na hinaluan din ng pampalasang toyo at oyster sauce.

“The ingredients are easily adjusted to taste, availability, and preference and can be prepared separately or shortly stir-fried alongside noodles,” anang Taste Atlas.

“Since long and thick noodles symbolize long and prosperous life, this versatile and colorful dish is usually served on special occasions, such as various celebrations and birthday parties,” saad pa nito.
