Nanumpa ang newly-appointed Secretary ng Department of Public works and Highways (DPWH) na si Roger Mercado, na pananatilihin niya ang mga agresibong proyekto ng administrasyong Duterte nang pormal niyang ginampanan ang posisyon nitong Huwebes, Oktubre 14.

Pinalitan ni Mercado si Mark Villar na nagbitiw ng tungkulin upang tumakbo sa pagka-senador sa 2022 national elections.

Personal na winelcome ni Villar si Mercado, isang mambabatas sa Leyte, sa turnover ceremony sa DPWH Central Office sa Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila.

Bago maging DPWH Secretary, Si Mercado ang vice chairman ng Public Works and Highways Committee Vice Chairperson sa 18th Congress.
