NANAWAGAN ang Department of Tourism (DOT) nitong Linggo sa mga turista o biyahero na ugaliin ang pagsasabuhay ng responsible tourism sa Pilipinas, kasunod ng nag-viral sa social media na larawan ng isang lalaki na tila dumudumo sa isang banga sa heritage site ng Intramuros.

“With this, we reiterate our call for everyone to be mindful of our environment and to practice responsible tourism, especially in our heritage sites,” pahayag ni Department of Tourism-attached agency Intramuros Administration (IA) chief Guiller Asido.

Nilinaw naman ni Guiller na pinuntahan na ang lugar na nasa larawan at malinis naman umano doon.

“After sifting through the location, the personnel deployed reported that there is no waste in the area, contrary to what is thought to be insinuated in the photo. The IA has tried all possible means to contact the person who first posted the incident online, but until now we’ve yet to receive a response,”aniya.

Ayon sa hepe, dapat na agad i-report ng publiko sa mga personnel o mga guwardiya ang nakitang nilang anumang maling aksiyon sa halip na “instigating unwarranted assumptions, and hateful messages”.

Asido said.

“We ask that the public be vigilant in terms of our heritage sites and to call the attention of any law enforcement officer, or security officers who are posted in all areas,” ayon kay Asido.

Una nang ipinag-utos ni Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso sa pulisya na hanapin ang lalaking nasa larawan. Habang isinusulat ang balitang ito, nakikipag-ugnayan na ang lokal na pamahalaan sa IA hinggil sa isyu.
