Ipinag-utos ni Director General Ronald dela Rosa, hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP), ang pagpapatupad ng mas mahigpit na seguridad sa mga lugar na dinarayo ng mga turista.
Ipinalabas ang kautusan upang maiwasan ang insidente ng pagbobomba at kidnapping na isinasagawa ng bandidong Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG).
“For instance, Palawan and the rest of the Region 4B (Mindoro Occidental and Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) has so many tourist spots, yet, there is also a history of kidnapping in Palawan,” ani Dela Rosa sa kanyang pagbisita sa MIMAROPA regional police.
“So this is what I am trying to emphasize. If it is mere bombing outside highly-urbanized areas, it would have very little impact but if it involves foreigners then it would be a different story,” dagdag pa nito. - Aaron Recuenco
