Papalo sa pinakaunang pagkakataon ang Sarangani bilang kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa Asia Pacific Regional Softball Series sa Clark, Pampanga, sa Hulyo 11-18.
Napag-alaman kay Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Atty. Jose Luis Gomez na sasabak ang Sarangani sa Intermediate Baseball 50-70 regional matapos itong magwagi bilang gold medalist sa 59th Palarong Pambansa na ginawa sa Albay.
“It was the first time that Sarangani has won a gold medal in softball,” sabi ni Gomez, director general din ng International Little League Association of Manila (ILLAM) at nagpasimula ng softball clinics sa rehiyon ng Mindanao sapul noong 2015.

“Sarangani placed only third when they lost to Iloilo in the Philippine Series. But they didn’t lose hope and still compete in the Albay Palaro for SOCKSARGEN and eventually won the gold medal and the right to represent the Philippines in the AsPac Regionals in Clark,” sabi ni Gomez.
Ang Sarangani, sinusuportahan ni Senador-elect Manny Pacquiao, ay kasalukuyan nang naghahanda sa ilalim ng amerikanong coach-trainer na si Matt Hattaway.
