Nagbigay ng mensahe si Vice President Sara Duterte sa mga beteranong sundalo sa ginanap na "Saludo: Mga Kuwento ng Tapat at Paglilingkod" na inilunsad ng kaniyang tanggapan noong Agosto 26 sa F. Torres Street, Davao City bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng National Heroes' Day.
Sa latest Facebook post ni VP Sara nitong Lunes, Agosto 31, mapapanood ang bahagi ng kaniyang mensahe sa 40 retiradong sundalo ng Davao City.
Aniya, “We would like to thank you for your service to our country and for protecting the future of generations of Filipinos to come—our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren, at ang mga susunod pa sa atin kung wala na tayo dito sa mundo.
“I also wish that you will be closer to God every day in your relationship with him and in your faith in the Lord Almighty,” dugtong pa ni VP Sara.
Samantala, kinilala naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos ang paglilingkod ng mga kasalukuyang bayani kabilang ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), guro, pulis, sundalo, at iba pa.
