Ipinapatawag na ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang producers ng noontime show na “It’s Showtime” kasunod ng mainit na pagbatikos ng netizens sa comedian-host na si Vice Ganda dahil sa kaniyang naging “offensive” at “insensitive” jokes umano sa kanilang skit noong Biyernes, Hulyo 24.
Sa inilabas na press release ng MTRCB nitong Martes, Hulyo 28, ipinag-uutos ang pagharap ng GMA Network Inc. at ABS-CBN Corporation sa MTRCB Hearing and Adjudication Committee sa Miyerkules, Hulyo 29, upang pag-usapan ang umugong na mga reklamo hinggil sa nasabing aksyon ng komedyante sa “It’s Showtime.”
“The notice, signed by MTRCB Chair and CEO Lala Sotto by authority of the MTRCB Board, directed respondents GMA Network Inc. and ABS-CBN Corporation, through their duly authorized representatives and/or counsel, to appear before the MTRCB Hearing and Adjudication Committee at the MTRCB Building on 29 July 2026, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. for a hearing on the said complaints,” pahayag ng MTRCB.
Saad pa ng ahensya, ang pagdagsa ng reklamo kay Vice, dahil sa kaniyang umano’y “racist” at “colorist” na mga komento, gayundin sa “lugaw” scene niya kasama ang co-host at asawang si Ion Perez, ay kinakitaan ng posibleng paglabag sa Section 3(c) ng Presidential Decree No. 1986, na nagbabawal sa pagpapalabas ng mga programang sumasalungat sa batas, kabutihang pag-uugali, at moral.
“In its notice to appear, the MTRCB said these allegations raised concerns as to whether “It’s Showtime” complied with Section 3(c) of Presidential Decree No. 1986 that prohibits the exhibition of TV programs that are contrary to law, good customs, public order, public morals, or are otherwise objectionable,” saad ng MTRCB.

Kaya babala ng ahensya, ang hindi pagdalo ng sinumang kinatawan mula sa dalawang networks ay kinokonsiderang pagsasawalang-bahala sa kanilang karapatang magpresenta ng ebidensya sa reklamo.
“The MTRCB said the respondents’ failure to appear shall be considered a waiver of the right to present evidence and the matter shall be resolved based on records available to the Board,” babala ng MTRCB.
Matatandaang nauna nang humingi ng dispensa si Vice noong Sabado, Hulyo 25, tungkol sa muli niyang pag-viral dahil sa isyung ito.

Kaya naman ina-acknowledge namin ang inyong sentimyento at humihingi po kami ng paumanhin sa inyo and we will try to do better. Maraming maraming salamat po,” saad ng komedyante bago matapos ang kanilang “Laro Laro Pick” segment noong Sabado.
