Mabibigat na mga pahayag ang binitawan ng grupong BAYAN - Bagong Alyansang Makabayan hinggil sa ikinasang surprise rally ng religious group na Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) sa EDSA People Power Monument na nagsimula noong Martes, Hunyo 30.
Kasunod ito ng ipinakikitang suporta ng religious group kay Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, na napaulat na sasampahan ng kasong plunder ukol sa P75-million campaign donations na iniuugnay dito noong 2025 elections.
Sa isang pahayag na ibinahagi ng BAYAN sa kanilang Facebook post noong Martes, Hunyo 30, “smacks of hipocrisy” umano ang pagkondena nito sa anila’y selective justice.
“Iglesia Ni Cristo's demand to hold all corrupt officials accountable is legitimate. Still, they refuse to apply it to Rodante Marcoleta, who is facing graft and plunder charges for an election-related offense,” saad ng BAYAN sa kanilang post.
Anila, “Their condemnation of selective justice smacks of hypocrisy, since their motive is merely to preempt Marcoleta's looming arrest.”
“They are distorting the clamor for justice by maliciously invoking it to negotiate concessions from the corrupt Marcos Jr. administration,” dagdag pa nila.
Anang grupo, “consistent” umano ang pagpanig ng INC sa “notoriously corrupt dynasties.”
“Ironically, they call for transparency even if their real agenda is shrouded in secrecy as they engage in transactional politics,” anang grupo.
“The INC leadership has consistently sided with notoriously corrupt dynasties, including the Marcos dictatorship and the ‘uniteam’ of Marcos and Duterte in 2022,” giit nila.
“INC appears to be critical in organizing an anti-corruption protest, but it is suspiciously silent about the corruption issues hounding the Dutertes,” dagdag pa nila.
Panawagan ng BAYAN ang patuloy na laban at pagpapanagot sa mga lahat ng sangkot sa umano’y malawakang korapsyon at katiwalian sa bansa.
“Tuloy ang laban! Lahat ng sangkot, dapat managot!” anila.
“Marcos, singilin! Duterte, panagutin! Baguhin ang korap at bulok na sistema!” pagtatapos ng BAYAN.
Matatandaang dumulog ang INC ng apat na araw na permit para sa naturang rally, ngunit ang permiso na magkilos-protesta ngayong Miyerkules, Hulyo 1 pa lamang ang inaprubahan ng Quezon City government.
