Nagpahayag ng labis na pagkabahala ang Department of Education (DepEd) Regional Office VIII kasunod ang malagim na shooting incident na naganap sa San Jose National High School sa Tacloban City nitong Lunes ng umaga, Hunyo 22.
Sa official statement na ibinahagi ng DepEd RO VIII, nagbahagi rin sila ng panalangin para sa mga naapektuhan ng insidente.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this unfortunate incident, particularly the learners, personnel, and families who may have experienced fear, trauma, or distress as a result of the situation,” saad nila.
Matapos matanggap ang impormasyon kaugnay sa shooting incident, agad silang nakipag-ugnayan sa mga awtoridad upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga indibidwal sa loob ng school premises.
May ugnayan na rin ang regional office sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at iba pang ahensya, upang maipamahagi ang anumang tulong at psychological support para sa mga naapektuhan ng shooting incident.
“At present, the matter is under investigation by the appropriate authorities. We defer to the Philippine National Police regarding the details of the incident and the ongoing investigation. We urge the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to rely only on official statements from authorized agencies,” anila.
“The safety, security, and well-being of our learners and personnel remain our highest priority. DepEd Regional Office VIII is committed to providing the necessary support to the affected school community and to working closely with partner agencies to ensure that schools remain safe, secure, and conducive spaces for learning,” dagdag pa nila.
“We call on everyone to join us in praying for the safety, healing, and recovery of all those affected by this incident. Further updates shall be provided through official channels as information becomes available,” pagtatapos nila.
Batay sa mga paunang imbestigasyon, tatlong mag-aaral na ang kumpirmadong nasawi sa insidente, habang lima naman ang napaulat na nasaktan.
Naaresto na ng mga awtoridad ang dalawang suspek na parehong menor de edad.
