Nakatakdang sumailalim sa 42-day quarantine sa The Netherlands ang 24 sa 38 tripulanteng Pilipino ng MV Hondius bago makauwi sa Pilipinas.
“For the Filipinos on board, what I know is they’ve all tested negative. From the time of contact, the incubation period can be as long as 45 days. So I think they'll be quarantined for 42 days in The Netherlands. If they do not exhibit any symptoms, that means they will be determined to be disease-free and the risk of having Hantavirus is very low. So puwede nang pauwiin ‘yan,” saad ni Department of Health (DOH) Sec. Ted Herbosa sa kanilang panayam sa media kasama ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) noong Linggo, Mayo 10.
Ang 14 namang natitira pang Pinoy ay mananatiling sakay ng cruise ship, na maglalayag patungo sa Rotterdam, Netherlands upang isailalim rin sa quarantine.
Saad naman ni DMW Sec. Hans Leo Cacdac, patuloy na makakatanggap ng suweldo ang mga manggagawa habang sila ay nasa quarantine, batay sa kanilang kontrata.
“I think it’s very important also to emphasize that throughout the period of quarantine in The Netherlands, the ship’s crew, the Filipino crew, will continue to receive their entitlements under their contract. So they will continue as they go under quarantine, they will continue to sustain their families,” ani Cacdac.
