Sinisiguro ng pamahalaan na sila ay umaaaksyon upang maibsan ang mga epekto ng patuloy na girian sa Middle East, at sa tumataas na inflation rate sa bansa, batay sa ulat ng Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev).  

Kasunod ito ng ulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes, Mayo 5, kung saan isiniwalat nilang tumaas sa 7.2% ang inflation rate sa bansa noong Abril 2026—mas mataas kumpara sa 4.1% noong Marso 2026.

“Amid the Middle East conflict disrupting fuel supply chains, the government is intensifying targeted interventions, particularly to temper upward price pressures on food, energy, and transport, while ensuring the continued stability of domestic supply,” saad ni DEPDev Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan sa kaniyang pahayag nitong Martes, Mayo 5.

Binigyang-diin din ng kalihim ang kahalagahan ng Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT)—isang “whole-of-government response framework”—bilang paraan upang mabigyang-solusyon ang mga nabanggit na isyu.

“We remain committed to a whole-of-government approach in addressing the impact of the Middle East crisis. Our priority is to ensure stable fuel supply, manageable prices, and adequate protection for all sectors amid ongoing domestic and global challenges,” ani Balisacan.

Base sa talang inilabas ng PSA, ilan daw sa mga salik ng pagtaas ng antas ng presyo ng bilihin at mga serbisyo sa bansa ay ang heavily-weighted food, non-alcoholic beverages, transport index, housing, water, electricity, gas, at iba pa.

Naitala rin ngayong Abril 2026 ang ikalimang buwang sunod na pagtaas ng inflation rate sa Pilipinas mula noong Nobyembre 2025.
