Pumalo sa 7.2% ang inflation rate o ang antas ng presyo ng mga bilihin at iba't ibang serbisyo sa bansa, batay sa talang inilabas ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes, Mayo 5.
Lubhang mas mataas ito sa naitalang 4.1% inflation rate noong Marso 2026.
Dahil sa talang ito, aabot na sa 3.9% ang average inflation rate sa bansa mula Enero 2026 hanggang Abril 2026.
Noong Abril 2025 naman, naitala ang 1.4% inflation rate sa bansa, hindi hamak na mas mababa kumpara sa 7.2% nitong Abril 2026.
Base pa sa datos ng PSA, ito na ang ikalimang buwan ng pagtaas ng inflation rate sa bansa, mula noong Nobyembre 2025.

Anang PSA, ilan lamang sa mga salik na nagpataas sa inflation rate ng bansa ay ang “heavily-weighted food, non-alcoholic beverages, transport index, housing, water, electricity, gas,” at iba pa.
“The uptrend in the overall inflation rate in April 2026 was primarily influenced by the faster annual increment in the heavily-weighted food and non-alcoholic beverages index at 6.0 percent during the month from 2.9 percent in March 2026,” saad ng PSA.
“Also contributed to the uptrend of the overall inflation were the faster annual increases observed in transport index at 21.4 percent in April 2026 from 9.9 percent in the previous month, and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels at 8.2 percent during the month from 4.7 percent in the previous month,” dagdag pa nila.
