Ibinahagi ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang listahan ng 17 senatorial candidates at 15 party-list groups na naghain ng kanilang certificate of candidacy (COC) at certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) sa unang araw ng filing ngayong Martes, Oktubre 1, sa Manila Hotel Tent City.

Sa isang ambush interview, sinabi ni Comelec chair George Garcia na medyo matumal ang unang araw ng filing ng COC.
"Sa monitoring natin sa buong NCR at sa ibang parte ng ating bansa, maayos ang nagiging filing ng certificate of candidacy, medyo matumal dahil unang araw. Nagbabantayan ang mga magkakalaban at the same time 'yung iba naman siguro ay ipinagpapabukas na lamang o sa kalagitnaan ng filing ng candidacy," saad ni Garcia.
