Mismong si PBBM ang nag-anunsyo nito sa isang impromptu press conference kahapon ng Lunes, Hunyo 20, sa BBM headquarters sa Mandaluyong City.
“As to agriculture, I think that the problem is severe enough that I have decided to take on the portfolio of Secretary of Agriculture, at least for now and at least until we can reorganize the Department of Agriculture in the way that will make it ready for the next years to come,” anang president-elect.

Samantala, ang incumbent DA Secretary na itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong 2019 ay si William Dar.
