HOUSTON (AP) – Nakabuo na ng tatlong hari na palaban ang Brooklyn Nets.
Biglang naging liyamado sa Eastern Conference ang Nets nang maisara ang ‘blockbuster trade’ na kinabibilangan ng apat na koponan, tampok si one-time NBA MVP at three-time reigning scoring champion James Harden.
Sa report ni Adrian Wojnarowski sa ESPN, nakipagkasundo ang Houston Rockets para pakawalan si Harden patungo sa Brooklyn para muling makasama ang dating Oklahoma City Thunder teammate na si Kevin Durant at one-time NBA champion Kyrie Irving.
Makukuha ng Houston sa naturang trade na kinasangkutan din ng Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers, sina Victor Oladipo, Dante Exum, Rodions Kurucs, apat na first-round picks at apat na first-round pick.
Ipinamigay ng Nets sina Jarrett Allen at Taurean Prince sa Cleveland. Bilang kabig kapalit ni Oladipo, mapupunta sa Pacers si Caris LeVert at second-round pick.
Ang apat na draft picks at ang pick swaps ay pawang unprotected, ayon sa report ng ESPN. Isa sa picks na nakuha ng Houston ay ang 2022 first-round pick ng Cleveland na nakuha nila sa naunang trade sa Milwaukee Bucks. Binitiwan din ng Cavaliers ang 2024 second-round pick sa Nets.
Naging bukas sa trade si Harden matapos ang nakadidismayang kampanya sa nakalipas na season, sa kabila ng tambalan nila ni Russell Westbrook, naunang umalis sa Houston bago magsimula ang season. Malamya ang simula ng Rockets na naging mitsa para bumigay ang Houston management.
“We’re just not good enough — obviously, chemistry, talent-wise, just everything — and it was clear these last few games,” Harden told reporters following a fifth straight subpar effort that has resulted in a 1-4 stretch. He finished his stunning media availability by saying, “I love this city. I’ve literally done everything that I can. I mean, this situation, it’s crazy. It’s something that I don’t think can be fixed, so, yeah, thanks,” pahayag ni Harden.
