Ang mga guro ang madalas na nagbibigay inspirasyon sa kanyang mga estudyante, tungkol man sa pag-aaral o sa buhay sa labas ng paaralan.

Para kay ONE Championship’s Angelie “D Explorer” Sabanal ay kabaliktaran ito.

Si Sabanal na isang college professor sa mathematics sa University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines ay sinasabing ang kanyang mga estudyante ang nagbibigay inspirasyon at lakas sa kanya na ipagpatuloy ang paglaban niya sa ONE Women’s atomweight division.

“What motivates me, aside from my family, are my students. I want to show them the value of martial arts, especially the type of impact that it will have on them,” sabi ni Sabanal.

“Martial arts is a lifestyle, My goal is to encourage more women and young people to take up martial arts.”

Alam ni Sabanal ang mga sakripisyo na kailangang gawin tuwing papasaok sa ONE ring lala na ngayong makakaharap niya si Itsuki Hirata sa ONE: LEGENDARY QUEST ngayong Sabado.

Higit pa sa pansariling kapakanan ay naiintindihan niyang mas madaling magbigay mensahe sa nakararami kapag siya ay nagtagumpay sa laban.

“In martial arts, you’ll be taught the main components of the sport - which is respect and discipline. Both things are essential in our lives,” bahagi ni Sabanal.

“Being an athlete and a teacher at the same time, I am thankful to have this platform to show the beauty of martial arts on larger scale. That’s why I always strive to be better to inspire more young people.”

Alam ng Cagayan de Oro native na ang laban na it okay Hirata ay hindi madali pero dahil manonood ang kanyang mga estudyante ay mas gagalingan pa niya.

“This is my first match this year and I’ll do everything to win. You’ll see all the things that I worked on for the past seven months,” sabi ni Sabanal.

“I am gonna use this opportunity to inspire more kids to take up martial arts. I will show them the beauty of it.”
