“Good news Pilipinas I just won 11-9 against Uk’s Imran Majid! I struggled in the beginning but i thank God for giving me so much strength to get through it,” pahayag ni De Luna sa kanyang Facebook message.
“When you break, you should not rush the first shot. You must wait for the balls to settle and then pick the best pattern from there,” ayon sa Doha Asian Games silver medalist.

Target ni De Luna na lagpasan ang tinapos sa nakalipas na edisyon kung saan natalo siya kay Chang Jung-lin ng Chinese-Taipei, 11-10, sa quarterfinal round.
“I think this is the key to the championship and I plan on employing this approach for the rest of the competition,” aniya.
Makakalaban ni De Luna si 2005 US Open 9-ball ruler Filipino-Canadian Alex “The Lion” Pagulayan na nakaungos kontra kay Aloysuis Yapp ng Singapore, 11-10.
“It’s going to be tough in my next match, but I believe I have a great chance to win,” sambit ni De Luna.
Nagtala ng magkahiwalay na panalo sina Joshua Filler ng Germany at Francisco Sanchez Ruiz ng Spain para ma iskeydyul ang kanilang quarterfinals meeting. Namayani si Filler kay defending champion Jayson Shaw ng Scotland (11-4) habang angat naman si Ruiz kay Ko Ping-Chung ng Chinese-Taipei (11-4).
Ang torneo na nilahukan ng 256 pool masters ay may total prize na US$300,000 kung saan ang magkakampeon ay magbubulsa ng US$50,000 habang US$25,000 naman ang maiuuwi ng runner-up place at may nakalaan naman na US$12,000 sa 3rd at 4th. Nakatitiyak naman si De Luna na mayUS $6,250 matapos makapasok sa quarterfinals.
