Ipinagtanggol ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ang katumpakan ng inilabas nilang narco-list, sa gitna ng pagtanggi at pagrereklamo ng mga pulitikong nasa listahan.
Sa pahayag ng PDEA, dumaan ang naturang listahan sa sapat na verification at revalidation process sa loob ng 14 na buwan.
“The 46 narco politicians, whose names were announced by President Duterte is a product of almost 14 months revalidation and workshop of Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as a resource [agency],” depensa ng PDEA.

“This is only the partial list of narco politicians. Others are still being revalidated while there are some who were transferred to the civilian list since they are no longer holding or running for public office,” dugtong pa ng ahensiya.
Kaugnay nito, maglulunsad din ng sariling imbestigasyon ang Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) at Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) kaugnay ng kontrobersiya.
Ito ang paliwanag ni PDEA spokesman Derrick Arnold Carreon na nagsabing may malaking responsibilidad ang pamahalaan sa publiko dahil ang kapakanan ng nakararami ay mas matimbang kaysa iilang nakagawa ng pagkakamali.
Magiging patas naman ang gagawing imbestigasyon laban sa mga pulitikong isinasangkot sa droga.
Ito ang tiniyak ni Department of Justice (DoJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra nang iutos niya sa kagawaran at sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na silipin ang usapin.
Ayon sa kanya, nakatakda na ring imbestigahan ng Office of the Ombudsman ang administrative case na iniharap ng DILG at PDEA laban sa 46 na nasa narco-list.
“On the other hand, the DoJ will investigate the criminal aspect once the proper complaints or intelligence reports are submitted to us. In compliance with the requirements of due process, we shall likewise give these persons named in the narcolist ample opportunity to disprove the allegations against them,” paniniyak nito.
Umaasa rin si Guevarra na matatapos ang pagsisiyasat bago pa maidaos ang eleksiyon sa Mayo 13.
