Bayambang, Pangasinan humakot ng parangal sa Digital Cities PH awards-Balita

WAGI ng unang puwesto ang bayan ng Bayambang para sa Best in eGov Systems for Global Competitiveness (G2W), ikalawa sa Best in eGov Digital Finance Empowerment (P2G), at ikatlo sa Best in eGov Customer Empowerment (G2C) sa ginanap na Digital Cities Philippines awards, kamakailan.

Sa isang panayam nitong Lunes, ibinahagi ni Municipal Information and Communications Technology (ICT) head Carmela Atienza-Santillan ang kanilang sa G2W award para sa kanilang motorized tricycle operators permit system na may e-tagging technology.

“Here in our town, illegal tricycles were lessened because of the technology we use. Through the radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, traffic enforcers use a handheld reader to detect violations such as unregistered tricycle, among others,” aniya.

Ayon kay Santillan, ang P2G award ng bayan ay para naman sa Integrated Local Government Unit System, na sumisiguro sa pagkakaroon ng handang teknolohiya na ginagamit upang mas mapagsilbihan ang mga residente sa bayan.

“The third place for the G2C award was because of the Bayambang Emergency Response System or the #4357. It’s like 911, wherein people in our town needing assistance because of emergency cases can be attended to immediately through this hotline,” dagdag pa ni Santillan.

Tanging ang bayan ng Bayambang lamang sa Rehiyon 1 (Ilocos region) ang nakilahok sa kumpetisyon para sa digital citiessa bansa.

“The Quiambao-Sabangan administration’s (incumbent) vision to make Bayambang a smart town, so these awards inspired us to strive harder than ever to attain our goal,” pagmamalaki pa ni Santillan.

Ang ‘eGov Awards for Excellence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) on Good Governance for Local Government Units’ ay programa ng Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of the Interior and Local Government, at ng National ICT Confederation of the Philippines para kilalanin ang “best ICT practices” ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa bansa.

Samantala, nakuha nnaman ng Alaminos City ang ikalawang puwesto sa Best in eGov Data-Driven (D2G) National Awards-City Category para sa Barangay Health Workers Information System nito.
