Sa katunayan ang Thailand-based chess instructor na si Causo, dating top player ng National University, ay kasalo sina International Master (IM) Duong The Anh at Grandmaster (GM) Bui Vinh ng Vietnam at FM Lee Jun Hyeok ng South Korea sa pagtala ng 6.5 puntos pero lumagay sa No. 5 matapos ang tiebreaker na may 46.0.

Nakamit ni Duong The Anh ang third place na may 46.5 kasunod si fourth place Bui Vinh na mayroon ding 46.5. Si Lee Jun Hyeok ay nasa sixth place na may 43.5 lower tie break points.

Pumuwesto rin si Causo na overall fifth place finish sa Jolimark Hongkong International Open Chess Championship nitong Disyembre 27 na ginanap sa Kung Lee College sa Tai Hang Drive, Hong Kong.
