Kasabay ng idinaraos na Undas, nanawagan ang Simbahang Katoliko sa mga tagapanalig na umpisahan ang pagsuri sa sarili.
“All Souls’ Day is a timely reminder that we are just pilgrims here on earth. Our stay here is temporary and our true home is in heaven. Like our departed loved ones, we will also have our end. So, All Souls’ Day is a wake-up call for us to reexamine our lives, whether we can be with the Father forever and reside in His Kingdom,” ayon kay Balanga Bishop Ruperto C. Santos.
Sinabi ni Santos, CBCP – Episcopal Commission on the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People chairman, ngayon ang tamang araw para gunitain ang mga yumaong mahal sa buhay.
“Ironically, we go to the cemeteries and remember our faithful departed on Nov. 1, when on that day, we should remember all the saints. We offer flowers, we light candles, and we partakes food but more importantly, we should pray more and offer holy masses for the dead, visit them more often not just on this day. We should remember and relive their good deeds,” pahayag ni Santos.

Sa mga simbahang Katoliko ngayon, tatlong Requiem Masses ang isasagawa para sa holy souls sa purgatoryo—isa para sa celebrant, isa para sa mga yumao at isa para sa Holy Father na si Pope Francis.
