Tiniyak ni Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo na hindi siya naaalarma sa election protest ni dating Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos sapagkat ang mga akusasyon nito ay wala umanong basehan.

Sa panayam ng mga mamamahayag noong Miyerkules, sinabi ni Robredo na mas inaalala niya ang mahal na legal fees kaysa sa nilalaman ng election protest ni Marcos.

“My worry is on the payment… How much the legal fees would take? Where would I get it? And it would not be charged to the office. I don’t have personal money to pay for it,” sabi ni Robredo.

Binanggit din ng Bise Presidente na hindi naman siya nagpapalibre ng bayad sa kanyang abogadong si Romulo Macalintal, sa halip ay singilin siya ng mas mura.

“I think Attorney Macalintal knows the limitation. I haven’t talked to him yet now he represents me in the extension of the case. I would again request him if he could lower it for the sake of the country,” ayon kay Robredo.

Inabisuhan ng Korte Suprema, umaaktong Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), si Robredo na sumagot sa election protest ni Marcos sa loob ng sampung araw.

Sa kanyang protesta, iginiit ni Marcos na siya ang dapat ideklarang vice president at hindi si Robredo dahil sa naganap na umano’y malawakang dayaan noong May elections. - Raymund F. Antonio at Helen Wong
