Lahat ng screening sa mga lokal na sinehan sa buong bansa ay hahatiin sa local films at foreign movies, alinsunod sa panukalang Local Movies Act.
Layunin ng House Bill 6300 ni Rep. Dan S. Fernandez (1st District, Laguna) na masiguro na ang mga lokal na pelikula ay magtatamo nang tama at patas na exposure mula sa mga dayuhang mga pelikula at makabawi ang mga producer sa kanilang ginastos.
“The bill urges the movie theater owners to support the local movie producers and encourage them to make more films that will compete with foreign films,” ayon kay Fernandez.
“Local movies produced and shown in theaters will entice the younger generation to watch Filipino movies that will foster patriotism and nationalism in them,” dagdag ng mambabatas. (Bert de Guzman)
