TINULUYAN pa ring sampahan ng slander by deed with damages amounting to P3 million pesos sa Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office ang aktres na si Melissa Mendez ng nakaalitan at ‘di umano’y sinampal na si Rey Pamaran, kaibigan ng Mister World runner-up at rugby player na si Andrew Wolff, kahit humingi na ng apology ang una sa kanyang Instagram account (@realmelissamendez).
Matatandaang nag-ugat ang lahat sa loob ng Cebu Pacific flight patungong Pagadian City noong Biyernes, March 19 nang magkaengkuwentro sina Melissa at Rey. Naging dahilan ang insidente para i-offload ng naturang airline si Melissa sa NAIA terminal.
Sa IG post ni Melissa nitong Martes, March 24, sinabi niyang, “In the light of the recent incident that involved me and Mr. Rey Pamaran, I would just like to simply apologize for my untoward actions and move on from this. This incident has caused a lot of pain and trouble to me and my family, as well as the other party involved. I am owning up to my mistake. No matter what the reason might be, I had no right to physically hurt Mr. Pamaran. Again, my deepest apologies to Mr. Pamaran and everyone else who have been affected by this.”

Ilang oras pagkaraang mai-post ni Melissa ang paghingi ng dispensa, nag-post naman si Rey sa kanyang Facebook page ng reaksiyon hinggil dito.
Ani Rey, “Reading the response of the supposedly ‘public apology’ of Ms. Mendez, I immediately made up my mind to pursue my cases against her. I was hoping for a more heartfelt reply, where she would not only apologize but also own up to the lies that she said on TV to defend herself while destroying my reputation.”
Ayon sa nakuha naming impormasyon, hindi diumano matanggap ni Rey ang paghingi ni Melissa sa social media ng apology bagkus gusto ng model/realtor na sa telebisyon gawin ang public apology ng aktres. Umani naman ng batikos sa netizens ang tila ‘malupit’ na ‘parusang’ hinihingi ni Rey kay Melissa.

Galing naman kay Christian Israel Nacion: “If a woman apologises to you, you should accept it whole-heartedly whether it’s delivered personally or via social media. You should act as a gentleman and be forgiving to anyone who caused you harm and just move on.”
