Naniniwala si Senator Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos Jr, na hindi sapat ang Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) para maresolba ang problema sa kapayapaaan sa Mindanao.

Ayon kay Marcos, kailangang pag-aralan ng pamahalaaan at ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) ang mga probisyon dito dahil may mga kahinaan din ito at hindi magiging tugon sa kapayapaan.

Tinukoy ni Marcos ang kawalan ng “good faith” sa liderato ng MILF, kawalan ng mekanismo para sa koordinasyon ng pamahalaan at rebeldeng grupo, at ang isyu sa konstitusyunalidad nito.

“All of these things point to the glaring weakness in that whole process. As you asked the way forward is to take a change of perspective and not think only BBL. People had counted BBL as the solution the be all and end all. Basta’t ipasa yung BBL tapos problema natin. Mukhang hindi ganon,” ani Marcos.

Sinabi pa nito na sakaling magkaroon ng plebisito sa dalawang kapulungan ngayon ay tiyak na ibabasura ang BBL.

Pansamantalang itinigil ni Marcos ang pagdinig sa BBL dahil sa insidente sa Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

Tinukoy din ni Marcos kung bakit ang national government pa ang maglalaan ng pondo sa Bangsamoro Republic, isyu sa power sharing, administratibo at kontrol ng pulisya sa mga lugar ng Bangsamoro.

“Those of us who had invested in working towards this peace, we are in a very difficult situation in trying to find the ways to move the process forward,” dagdag ni Marcos.

Duda rin siya kung maabot nila ang Marso 18, para maipasa ang BBL.

“I am afraid the timetable is completely demolished, that is the only word I can use because there are so many inquiries that still need to be conducted. There are 9 entities that are conducting this investigation, we are in the midst of forming the Truth Commission which, in my view, should be the overarching body and take the results of all the investigation and come up with a single report on what exactly happened,” ayon pa kay Marcos.
