Nailigtas ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang tatlong “critically endangered” na saltwater crocodiles sa kasagsagan ng kanilang wildlife extraction operation sa San Felipe, Zambales.
Batay sa inilabas na pahayag ng DENR-Central Luzon nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 31, ligtas na nailipat ang mga buwaya sa Zoobic Safari matapos ang nasabing operasyon.
Dito ay isasailalim ang mga buwaya sa komprehensibong veterinary assessment, specialized medical care, at long-term management sa isang pasilidad na idinisenyo para sa malalaking reptilya.
“Following the extraction, the crocodiles were turned over to Zoobic Safari, where they will undergo a comprehensive veterinary assessment, receive specialized medical care, and be placed under long-term management in a secure facility designed for large reptiles,” saad ni DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Olongapo City Head Edward Sernadilla.
Ang nasabi namang pagkuha at paglilipat sa mga buwaya ay naisakatuparan sa pakikipagtulungan ng DENR sa Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) sa Zambales, San Felipe local government unit (LGU), pamunuan ng El Samba Resort, at wildlife specialists mula sa Zoobic Safari.
