Ipinagdiinan ni Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list Rep. Atty. Leila de Lima na hindi umano dapat panay latag ng plano at retorika ang nilalaman ng State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.
Sa isang pahayag na inilabas ni De Lima sa kaniyang social media post nitong Lunes, Hulyo 27, sinabi niyang inaasahan sa Pangulo ang pagbanggit ng mga kongkretong resulta mula sa mga mga polisiyang inilabas ng administrasyon sa nagdaang apat na taon.
“As this is President Bongbong Marcos Jr.'s penultimate SONA, we expect to hear about concrete results from his administration's policies and programs during the past four years,” saad ni De Lima.
“Hindi na puro plano at retorika ang dapat laman ng SONA,” giit pa niya.
Anang kongresista, nararapat lamang daw na lutasin ni PBBM ang mga kinahaharap na isyu ng bansa.
“President Marcos Jr. should address the pressing problems and challenges that have recently beset the nation. Among the issues we expect him to discuss are corruption, the economy, law enforcement, and peace and order,” anang kongresista.
Aniya, “One year after his ‘Mahiya naman kayo’ remark, where are we now?”
“Yes, there are now individuals who have been charged and detained in connection with anomalous flood control projects, but we expect more big fish, especially the mastermind/s. Ano na bang update sa pagtugis kay Zaldy Co? Hindi natin tatantanan ang usaping ito. We continue to strongly question the inaction or lack of urgency in passing our proposed Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption (ICAIC) Bill,” dagdag pa niya.
Binanggit din ni De Lima ang aniya’y nararapat na pagtiyak ng administrasyon sa kaligtasan ng publiko, kasunod ang mga napaulat na nasawing indibidwal kamakailan bunsod ng mga karahasan at krimen.
“Meanwhile, on the issue of recent killings, the administration must do more to reassure the public about their safety and protection. In just one week, motorcycle taxi rider Fabio Norberte Jr. and political vlogger Alicia Lipatan, both in Caloocan, as well as marine scientist Dr. Kent Carpenter in Negros Oriental, lost their lives in separate fatal attacks. Isama pa dito yung nangyaring school shooting sa Tacloban, insidente ng pananaksak ng estudyante sa Cavite, at iba pang mga nareport at hindi naulat na karahasan. Aside from these, posting threats online has become rampant,” ani De Lima.
Aniya, “As we seek justice for the victims and their families, the perpetrators of these crimes must be held accountable. The administration should strengthen intelligence and security measures to prevent such tragic incidents from happening again. Hindi dapat bigyang puwang sa ating lipunan ang ganitong karumal-dumal na krimen at seryosong mga pagbabanta sa buhay.”
“We also want to know the administration’s more concrete actions on how to ease the burdens and suffering of our people, especially the vulnerable sectors, amid the economic crisis brought about by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East,” lahad pa niya.
Inaasahan din ng kongresista na magpapakawala ang Pangulo ng “bolder statements” hinggil sa aniya’y “harassment” at “intimidation” ng China sa mismong teritoryo ng Pilipinas.
“Lastly, we expect the President to make bolder statements against China’s continued harassment, intimidation and incursions into our territories,” anang kongresista.
Dagdag pa niya, “Kung malamya ang pagtutol at pagpalag natin sa ginagawa nilang pang-aalipusta at pangangamkam, baka bukas makalawa, mas marami na silang maipatayong imprastraktura at maagaw na teritoryo. Dapat mariin nating kondenahin at labanan ito."

“These are just some of the issues that we want to be addressed in the SONA. As always, we want a truthful report on the state of the nation and a clear direction for the future of our country,” pagtatapos ni De Lima.
