Inanunsyo ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 3, na sila ay magpapadala ng 6,000 na pulis kasunod ang ikakasang impeachment trial laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte simula sa darating na Lunes, Hulyo 6.
Batay sa PNP, ang mga ipadadalang pulis ay titiyakin ang kaayusan at kaligtasan sa Senate premises sa Pasay City.
“A comprehensive security plan is already in place. Intelligence monitoring is ongoing to monitor any threats that there might be,” saad ni PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co sa isang press briefing sa Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Idiniin naman niya na sa kasalukuyan ay nananatili silang nakataas sa “heightened alert.”
“As of now, we are still on heightened alert. We will see by Monday if we will be upgrading our alert level,” anang PNP spokesperson.
Matatandaang nauna nang iginiit ni PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. na handang siguruhin ng kanilang ahensya na magiging mapayapa at ligtas ang impeachment trial laban kay VP Sara.
“We have existing protocols for securing major government events and are prepared to coordinate closely with the Senate and other concerned agencies to ensure that the proceedings are conducted safely, peacefully, and without disruption,” saad ni Nartatez.
Inudyukan din ng hepe ang lahat na manatiling kalmado at marespeto sa umiiral na batas kaugnay sa gaganaping paglilitis.
"We encourage everyone to remain calm, respect the rule of law, and exercise their rights responsibly and peacefully. The PNP will remain impartial and committed to protecting both public safety and constitutional freedoms,” anang hepe.
