Patuloy ang pagmo-monitor ng Philippine National Police (PNP) sa mga umano’y kaso ng biglaang pagsasara ng mga gasolinahan, kasunod ng pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa pandaigdigang merkado.

Kaugnay ito sa pagsipa ng presyo ng krudo dahil sa patuloy na girian ng mga bansa sa rehiyon ng Gitnang Silangan.

Sa isang pahayag nitong Linggo, Marso 15, isiniwalat ni PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. na sila ay nakatanggap ng ilang mga ulat hinggil sa nasabing isyu.

“We, in the PNP, fully understand the situation that gas station owners face amid the challenges brought by the situation in the Middle East. But if the sudden closure is for illegal scheme, then expect police action on this matter,” saad ni Nartatez.

Nagpaalala naman ang PNP chief na iulat sa kinauukulan ang mga ganitong uri ng kaso.

“Immediately report to the authorities if you have information about gas stations that have closed or stopped operations. We will promptly visit and investigate them,” anang PNP chief.

Pinaalalahanan niya rin ang ilang hepe na makipag-ugnayan sa lokal na pamahalaan at sa Department of Energy (DOE) upang malaman ang dahilan ng mga napapaulat na pagsasara ng ilang gasoline stations.

“We assure the public that the PNP has contingencies in place to ensure peace and order is not affected by the effects of the conflict in Iran or the rising fuel prices,” pagtitiyak ni Nartatez.

Matatandaang kamakailan, nakipagtulungan na ang DOE sa PNP at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) kaugnay naman sa isyu ng hoarding at profiteering sa iba’t ibang mga produkto, partikular na sa produktong petrolyo.
