“The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) cautions the public against disinformation falsely portraying the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) sites as imminent military targets. These claims have no factual or intelligence basis and are clearly intended to sow fear and panic,” saad ng AFP sa ibinahagi nilang pahayag sa kanilang Facebook post nitong Martes, Marso 3.

Anila, “EDCA cooperation strengthens—rather than diminishes—Philippine defense posture by improving humanitarian assistance and disaster response, interoperability training, and territorial defense preparedness.”

“The AFP strongly condemns the spread of false information that unnecessarily alarms the public and undermines national unity,” anang ahensya.

“We urge citizens to remain calm, verify information through official government channels, and exercise responsible digital citizenship,” pagtatapos nila.

“There are no US military bases in the Philippines. EDCA sites are Philippine military installations owned, operated, and controlled by the Philippines, consistent with the Constitution and existing defense agreements,” anang AFP.

“There are no American military bases in the Philippines. The sites referred to under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) are Philippine military bases that remain under the full ownership, control, and management of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),” saad ng National Security Council sa kanilang pahayag, na ibinahagi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Atty.
