Matatandaang kinumpirma ng Benguet Provincial Police Office ang pagpanaw ng ginang bandang 12:03 ng madaling araw matapos maiulat na natagpuan umano ang katawan nito na “unconscious” at “unresponsive” malapit sa ilog ng Bued sa Tuba, Benguet matapos umanong mahulog sa bangin noong Huwebes ng gabi, Disyembre 18.

"Usec. Catalina Cabral was one of the central figures in the on-going investigation of the anomalous government infrastructure projects. As the former undersecretary for planning, she was no doubt privy to viral information," anang ICI.

"The commission likewise calls for prompt and thorough investigation of the death of Usec. Cabral to ensure that there is no foul-play. Should authorities determine one, it is possible that those responsible may also be connected to the anomalous infrastructure projects," anang ICI.
Nakiramay din ang Komisyon sa pamilyang naiwan ni Cabral.
"The Commission extends its condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the former DPWH Undersecretary."
Samantala, nakiramay din ang DPWH sa pagpanaw ni Cabral.
"Undersecretary Cabral served the Department for more than 40 years, and her loss will be mourned throughout the organization," anang ahensya.
