Tinawag ni dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na “hindi makatarungan” ang inilabas na arrest warrant ng Angeles City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 118, at sinabing isasama niya ito sa kaniyang aplikasyon para sa asylum sa The Netherlands.
Nitong Huwebes, Mayo 15, nang maglabas ang Angelec RTC ng arrest warrant laban kay Roque, at maging kay Cassandra Ong at 48 iba pa, dahil sa umano’y human trafficking kaugnay ng mga operasyon ng isang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub sa Pampanga.

“The issuance of a warrant of arrest forms part of the unjust prosecution, which I will include in my application for asylum in The Netherlands,” pahayag ni Roque matapos ang paglalabas ng korte ng arrest warrant.
Iginiit din niyang isa umano siyang biktima ng “political prosecution” ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. dahil kaalyado raw siya ng mga Duterte.
“I will seek all available legal remedies to secure my life and liberty which are currently under threat,” giit ni Roque.
“I reiterate: this is not flight as evidence of guilt but the exercise of a human right to asylum,” saad pa niya.
Kasalukuyang nasa The Hague, Netherlands si Roque, kung saan nakadetine si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kustodiya ng International Criminal Court (ICC) dahil sa kaso nitong “krimen laban sa sangkatauhan” kaugnay ng madugong giyera kontra droga ng administrasyon nito.
Matatandaang noong Setyembre 2024 nang umalis ng bansa si Roque matapos siyang ipa-contempt ng House of Representatives dahil sa hindi niya pagsipot sa pagdinig hinggil sa koneksyon niya sa POGO Lucky South 99, na siya ang lumalabas na umano'y legal counsel
Bukod dito, nabigo rin daw si Roque na magsumite ng mga hinihinging dokumento sa Komite, tulad ng Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN).
