Naglabas ng opisyal na pahayag si Mamamayang Liberal (ML) party-list first nominee at incoming representative-elect Atty. Leila De Lima kung bakit siya pumayag sa alok ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na sumama sa House Prosecution Panel na uusig sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Batay sa kaniyang X post, Miyerkules ng gabi, Mayo 14, kinumpirma ni De Lima na inimbitahan siya mismo ng House Speaker para sumama sa prosecution panel.

"The House Speaker has invited me to serve on the prosecution panel for the upcoming impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte. I have accepted," aniya.

"My decision comes from a place of duty and principle. I have always stood for truth, accountability, and the rule of law—across different administrations, regardless of political affiliation. That commitment remains unchanged."
