Kinumpirma ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na dalawang driver ng Solid North Bus Inc. ang nagpositibo sa mandatory drug testing na ikinasa ng Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Ayon sa pahayag na inilabas ng DOTr ngayong Biyernes, Mayo 9, 2025, posible umanong mawalan ng lisensya ang naturang dalawang driver.

“According to LTO, those who tested positive will be subjected to confirmatory tests, and may face perpetual revocation of their license and other criminal charges,” anang DOTr sa Facebook post.

Matatandaang isinagawa ang mandatory drug testing sa lahat ng driver ng nasabing bus company kasunod ng nangyaring aksidente sa SCTEX  noong Mayo 1 kung saan 10 ang nasawi habang 37 ang sugatan, dulot ng pang-aararo ng isa sa kanilang bus unit.

Samantala, nakatakda rin daw isalang sa vehicle inspection ang ilan pang unit ng bus ng Solid North.

“Meanwhile, the bus company’s units were also subjected to testing at the LTO’s motor vehicle inspection center in Zambales, wherein 46 out of 276 buses were found to be compliant with roadworthiness standards. The LTO continues to check the remaining bus units as of the moment,” saad ng DOTr.

Kaugnay nito, kamakailan lang nang ipag-utos ni DOTr Sec. Vince Dizon, ang mandatory drug testing para sa lahat ng hanay ng public utility vehicles (PUV) drivers.

“Today, I will sign a department order, ordering mandatory drug testing for all drivers of public conveyance vehicles,” ani Dizon.
