"To the LGBTQIA+ community,"
I offer my sincere apology and my full attention," aniya pa.

For that, I offer my sincere apology and my full attention."
"I will not pretend to have all the answers or to change overnight. But here is what I know with certainty:"
"Public office is not about enforcing personal beliefs. It is about upholding the rights, dignity, and safety of all Filipinos."
"I know that for many of you, my stance on marriage feels like a contradiction to the principle of pantay na karapatan. And I understand why."
"I will not stand in the way of same-sex unions becoming law. My job is not to impose personal doctrine. It is to serve justice."
"But beyond words, here is my commitment to action:
1. I will deepen my study and understanding of inclusive policy-making—to help build systems where every Filipino, regardless of gender identity or orientation, has equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and safety.
2. I will ensure that LGBTQIA+ voices are not only heard but empowered in the spaces where decisions are made—especially in my advisory team. Representation is not symbolic. It is essential to meaningful, just, and humane governance.
3.I will actively collaborate with LGBTQIA+ organizations and human rights defenders—especially from the grassroots and regions— to craft policies grounded in lived realities, not just theoretical ideals.
4. I will remain relentless in fighting corruption, because it is within broken and corrupt systems that LGBTQIA+ people—and all marginalized Filipinos—are most often silenced, abused, and erased.
This is not about political branding. This is about governance that is makatarungan, makatao, at patas.
The Supreme Court has ruled that public officials are not entitled to be onion-skinned. Criticism is not an insult. It is part of democracy. And in moments like this, it is a reminder that accountability is not punishment—it is service.
To those who continue to question, challenge, and call me in, I hear you. I will continue to listen. And I will not ask you to wait in silence while I grow.
To those who share my values of faith and integrity, I invite you to walk with me as we build a country where justice is not conditional, and where no one has to choose between safety and identity.
Pantay na pagtingin. Pantay na kalinga. Walang labis, walang kulang.
