Ibinahagi ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang naranasan umano niyang korapsyon sa Department of Education (DepEd), kung saan iginiit niyang dawit dito ang mga miyembro ng House of Representatives.
Sa isang panayam ng mga mamamahayag sa The Hague, Netherlands na inilabas ng News5 nitong Biyernes, Abril 4, sinabi ni Duterte na nagkaroon siya ng personal na karanasan kaugnay ng “graft and corruption” bago siya magbitiw bilang kalihim ng DepEd noong nakaraang taon kaugnay ng budget nito.
“I talked about it (graft and corruption) when I resigned from the Department of Education. The budget that we have is not put into good use. And we lose so much money diyan sa mga cut na tinatawag. And you see it when they craft the budget,” ani Duterte.
Iginiit ng bise presidente na hinati umano ang budget para sa mga programa ng DepEd sa mga miyembro ng Kamara.
“For example, by my personal experience, the budget of the Department of Education, the school building program, the new construction, everything is divided among members of the House of Representatives. And they are not even implementers of projects. That is the job of the executive department. That is the job of the Department of Education,” ani Duterte.

“So why are they interested in taking money from school building construction and allowing them to identify the projects? And somehow there is no system where the Department of Education, the DPWH, and the recipient local government unit can check if there was indeed a new construction of the school building. And if there was indeed a new construction, if the construction was up to the standard of the construction of a school building... That's my personal experience,” saad pa niya.

“I'm sure there are a lot of other incidents inside the departments in the government where there is graft and corruption. So it's poison to a country and it needs to be cut. It needs to be taken out so that the money of our resources are put to good use,” saad niya.
Matatandaang noong Setyembre 2024 nang ipahayag ni Duterte na kaya raw siya nagbitiw bilang kalihim ng DepEd ng Hunyo 2024 ay dahil kinuha umano nina House Speaker Martin Romualdez at Appropriations Chair Zaldy Co ang budget na nakalaan para sa ahensya.

Agad namang pinalagan ni Co ang nasabing pahayag ni Duterte at tinawag itong “pambubudol.”

Samantala, patuloy namang iniimbestigahan ng Kamara ang confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at maging ng DepEd noong si Duterte pa lamang ang kalihim ng ahensya.
Nito lamang Marso 2025 nang ilabas ng Kamara ang iba pang listahan ng mga kaduda-dudang pangalan na tumanggap umano ng confidential funds ni Duterte, kabilang na ang binansagang “Team Grocery” na sina “Beverly Claire Pampano,” “Mico Harina,” “Patty Ting,” “Ralph Josh Bacon,” at “Sala Casim.”
