Kinondena ng PDP-Laban ang pagpapatuloy ng Tri-Committee (Tri-Comm) hearings kaugnay ng imbestigasyon nito sa umano’y pagpapakalat ng fake news ng ilang vloggers at influencers.

Batay sa inilabas na press release ng PDP Laban noong Miyerkules, Pebrero 19, 2025, iginiit nilang isa umanong porma ng “harassment at paglabag sa freedom of speech,” ang ginagawa ng naturang komite sa ilang mga vloggers at influencers na inimbitahan nito.

“The Partido Demokratiko Pilipinas Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) slams the insistence of the Tri-Committee (Tri-Comm) of the House of Representatives to summon vloggers of social media influencers perceived to be pro Duterte to their hearings since it is a form of harassment and a violation of the right of speech and expression,” anang partido.

Matatandaang nasa tatlo lamang mula sa 41 vloggers at social media influencers ang sumipot sa Tri-Comm nang ipatawag sila nito, kaugnay ng kanilang imbestigasyon laban sa fake news sa bansa.

Giit pa ng PDP Laban, bilang isang partido umano na nagsusulong ng karapatang naka-ayon sa Konstitusyon, mariing umano nilang kinokondena ang tila pagsupil sa freedom of speech na mahalaga raw parte ng pagsisiwalat ng korapsyon sa pamahalaan. 

“As a party that advocates for rights guaranteed and enshrined in the Constitution, PDP Laban decries any direct or subtle attempt to curtail or derail free speech. Now more than ever, this right is critical in demanding accountability for the massive graft and corruption and other abuses and irregularities in government,” anang PDP Laban. 

Dagdag pa nila, mas mabuti pa raw na ituon ng House of Representatives ang oras nito sa pagpapabuti ng buhay ng mga Pilipino kaysa sa tila pang-iintimidate raw nito sa mga taga-suporta ng dating administrasyon. 

“The time and resources of the House of Representatives are better spent in improving the lives of the ordinary Filipino which is getting worse everyday rather than in useless hearings that are clearly meant to intimidate and harass supporters of the former president,” saad ng PDP Laban. 

Dagdag pa, ng PDP Laban, “This type of harassment against ordinary Filipino must stop and the House must focus its time and resources on more pressing problems afflicting the country, like the increase in the prices of basic commodities and the worsening law and order situation.”
