Naglabas ng pahayag si House Secretary General Reginald Velasco hinggil sa mga petisyong naglalayong kuwestiyunin ang kanilang proseso ng impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Miyerkules ng gabi, Pebrero 19, inihayag ni Velasco na alam nila ang tungkol sa mga inihaing petisyon sa Supreme Court (SC) kontra sa ipinasa ng House of Representatives na impeachment case laban kay Duterte sa Senado.
“We are aware of the two petitions filed before the Supreme Court challenging the validity and constitutionality of the impeachment complaint filed and transmitted to the Senate,” ani Velasco.
“We came to know about the petitions through the various media outlets. Considering that we have not received copies of any of these petitions, we are constrained to wait until we are furnished copies before we respond to any query on the matter.”

Kaugnay nito, iginiit ni Velasco na siniguro nilang sinunod ng mababang kapulungan ang Konstitusyon nang ihain nila ang mga articles ng impeachment laban sa bise.
“The House of Representatives ensured compliance with all constitutional requirements when it filed the Articles of Impeachment and transmitted it to the Senate,” saad ng House secretary.
Matatandaang noong Pebrero 5 nang maiakyat na sa Senado ang ikaapat na impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte matapos itong aprubahan ng House of Representatives sa pamamagitan ng mahigit 215 na pirma ng mga mambabatas.

Samantala, nito lamang ding Miyerkules nang kumpirmahin ng SC na pinetisyon mismo ni VP Duterte sa ang kinahaharap niyang impeachment cases, partikular na ang ikaapat na ipinasa ng Kamara sa Senado.
Bago ito, noong Martes, Pebrero 18, nang magpetisyon din ang mga kaalyado ni Duterte, kasama ang legal counsel ni Pastor Apollo Quiboloy na si Atty. Israelito Torreon, Davao City councilor Atty. Luna Acosta at dating Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) chairperson Atty. Martin Delgra, sa SC laban sa impeachment case ng bise.
