Mahigpit ang naging paalala ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa kaniyang pagharap sa mga abogado sa 20th National Convention of Lawyers.
Sa kaniyang talumpati sa naturang pagtitipong inorganisa ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) noong Biyernes, Enero 31, 2025, ipinaalala ni Romualdez sa mga abogado na ang hustisya aniya ay isang karapatan at hindi pribilehiyo.
"We must ensure that every Filipino, whether rich or poor, educated or unlettered, knows that the law is not the instrument of the powerful, but the protector of the weak. That justice is not a privilege, but a right. And that lawyers are not mere advocates of clients, but guardians of the nation's moral and legal compass," ani Romualdez.
Binigyang-diin din ng House Speaker na ang demokrasya ng bansa ay mariing umanong sinusubok ng pang-aabuso sa batas at manipulasyon.

"Here at home, democracy is being tested not by force, but by apathy; not by the absence of law, but its misuse and manipulation," anang House Speaker.
Dagdag pa ni Romualdez, nagiging matibay lamang aniya nag batas kung ito ay kasingtibay umano ng mga nagtataguyod nito.
"This is the reality we must confront: the law is only as strong as those who defend it. It is only as just as those who interpret it. And it is only as relevant as those who wield it for the common good," giit ng House Speaker.
