63% ng mga Pinoy, nagsasabing mahirap sila<b>—SWS</b>

Inihayag ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) na tumaas daw ang bilang ng mga Pilipinong nagsasabing mahirap lang sila.

Batay sa inilabas na datos ng SWS nitong Miyerkules, Enero 8, 2025 nasa 63% daw ng mga Pinoy ang nagsabing mahirap sila habang 11% naman daw ang naniniwalang nasa borderline sila at 26% naman ang nagsabing hindi raw sila parte ng naghihirap na populasyon ng bansa. 

“The December 2024 percentage of Self-Rated Poor families of 63% was 4 points up from 59% in September 2024, rising steadily for the third consecutive quarter since the significant 12-point rise from 46% in March 2024 to 58% in June 2024. This was the highest percentage of Self-Rated Poor families in 21 years, since 64% in November 2003,” anang SWS.

Noong Disyembre 2025, pumalo raw sa 59% ang “self-rated” poverty ng bansa, 9 na puntos na mas mataas sa 48% noong 2023.

Dagdag pa ng SWS: “Of the estimated 17.4 million Self-Rated Poor families in December 2024, 2.8 million were Newly Poor, 2.1 million were Usually Poor, and 12.4 million were Always Poor,” saad ng SWS.
