Inilahad ni human rights lawyer at first nominee Atty. Chel Diokno ang mga naging accomplishment ng partidong Akbayan sa kanilang muling pagbabalik para sa Kongreso sa 2025 elections.
Nitong Lunes, Oktubre 7, nang maghain ng Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) ang Akbayan, kung saan kasama ni Diokno sa paghahain ang second nominee ng party-list na si Rep. Perci Cendaña at third nominee na si Moro women and indigenous people's leader Dadah Kiram Ismula.
Sa kaniyang pahayag, sinabi ni Diokno na dadalhin din ng Akbayan, political party ni Senador Risa Hontiveros, sa Kongreso ang pagsusulong ng kapakanan ng mga Pilipino.

"Ang laban po ay hindi lamang nasa Senado, nasa Kongreso rin. Kaya isang pribilehiyo ang lumaban sa partylist kasama ang Akbayan," ani Diokno.
"Kasama sina Akbayan Rep. Perci, si Kasamang Dadah, at marami pang iba, kami ang mag-aakbayan sa Kongreso, habang sina Senator Risa, Bam, at Kiko ang mag-aakbayan sa Senado. Every legislative seat we claim is one less for the dynasties and trapos who have long dominated our Rep. Perci Cendaña for his part, highlighted Akbayan's long-standing reputation for public service and reform,” dagdag niya.
Kaugnay nito, binanggit ng human rights lawyer ang mga isyung isinulong daw ng Akbayan sa nakalipas na panahon.

“We will also participate in the Quad hearings to hold the Dutertes and others involved accountable for the bloody drug war that killed thousands,” dagdag niya.
