Kinumpirma ng Senado nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 26, ang pagkasawi ng isang lalaki matapos umano itong mahulog sa construction site ng bagong Senate building sa Taguig City nitong Huwebes ng gabi, Hulyo 25.
“It is with deep sorrow and concern that we confirm the tragic incident that occurred last night involving an individual who fell from the construction site of the Senate building along Chino Roces Ave., Extension, Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City,” anang Senado sa isang pahayag.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
Agad umanong ipinag-utos ni Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero ang pagsasagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon sa insidente at pagrepaso ng security protocols sa construction site.

Hindi pa naman inilabas ng Senado ang pagkakakilanlan ng nasawi dahil hindi pa umano naaabisuhan ang pamilya nito.
Ayon daw sa mga ulat mula sa security team on-site at sa Southern Police District, nadulas umano ang naturang indibidwal sa construction area bandang 9:00 ng gabi nitong Huwebes habang lumalabas sa main gate ang mga manggagawang nag-overtime sa trabaho.
“The deceased was reportedly chased by a companion and the security guards but could not be found. The security team searched the area and reviewed the CCTV but were not able to locate the person,” anang Senado.
Dagdag ng ulat, nahulog ang biktima sa north tower bandang 10:00 ng gabi. Hindi pa naman daw malinaw kung saang palapag ito nahulog.
“We have instructed security to recheck and tighten control of all entrance and exit points as well as the façade barriers to prevent unauthorized entry and loitering,” anang Senado.
“The Senate is taking this matter very seriously. We extend our full support to the on-going investigation to find out the actual circumstances surrounding this tragic incident,” dagdag pa nito.
