Mariing kinondena ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang "excessive force" umano ng pulisya sa pagsisilbi ng warrants of arrest ni Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
“I strongly condemn the use of excessive and unnecessary force in serving the warrant of arrest for Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by police officers who are not even from Davao City,” ani Duterte sa isang pahayag.
Ayon pa sa dating pangulo, hindi umano katanggap-tanggap ang ginawa ng pulisya lalo na’t nangyari pa raw ang insidente isang “place of worship” at “school premises.”
“Will this overkill be the trademark of this administration when dealing with individuals who are merely accused of committing a crime and have not been proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt? Will they exhibit the same lack of self-restraint they have shown towards critics of this administration when dealing with their supporters?” pagkuwestiyon ni Duterte.
Mahigit 100 pulis, pinasok KOJC compound para sa warrants ni Quiboloy
“How can this administration guarantee the preservation of the constitutional rights of our fellow Filipinos when even the most fundamental of these rights are being trampled upon and blatantly violated?” saad pa niya.
Matatandaang nito lamang ding Lunes nang magtungo ang mahigit 100 pulis sa compound ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) sa Davao City upang isilbi ang warrants of arrest ni Quiboloy na inisyu ng Pasig City court para umano sa mga kasong qualified human trafficking cases na isinampa laban sa kaniya at sa limang iba pa.
Hindi naman umano nila nakita ang pastor at ang abogado nito ang tanging tumanggap ng nasabing warrants.
Bukod sa naturang mga kaso ng qualified human trafficking, nahaharap din ang pastor sa mga kasong child at sexual abuse sa Davao City.
Samantala, matatandaang kamakailan lamang ay itinalaga si Duterte bilang administrator ng mga ari-arian ng KOJC ni Quiboloy.
