Naglabas ng show cause order ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) laban sa public utility jeepney (PUJ) driver sa Parañaque City na diumano’y namahiya at nagpababa ng kaniyang pasahero dahil sa “body size” nito.

Base sa kopya ng show cause order ng LTFRB na inilabas nitong Martes, Hunyo 11, binibigyan ang jeepney driver ng hanggang Biyernes, Hunyo 14, 2024, para magpakita at magpaliwanag sa kanilang opisina.

“Acting on the complaint and viral video of Joy Fabellon Gutierrez against the PUJ with plate no. NWJ 221 registered under Flora Magtibay & Romeo Guerrero/Double A Transport Corporation on JUNE 10, 2024 re: employing discourteous driver, failure to convey passenger and violation of safe spaces in public transportation per MC No. 2023-016 you are hereby directed to appear for a hearing before this office on JUNE 14, 2024 at 2:30 in the afternoon at the above address,” nakasaad sa show cause order ng LTFRB.

“Failure on your part to appear before this Board on the date mentioned above shall be considered as a waiver on your part to be heard and this case shall be decided on the basis of the evidence presented and the records of the Board,” dagdag pa.

Jeepney driver, ‘pinahiya’, ‘pinababa’ pasahero dahil umano sa ‘body size’ nito

Base sa viral post ng nabanggit na pasaherong si Gutierrez, inihayag nitong sumakay siya sa naturang jeep noong Hunyo 7, 2024 ng gabi para bilhan ng pares ang kaniyang ate nang bigla raw siyang sabihan ng driver na dapat siyang bumaba.

“Dapat daw akong bumaba. ‘Bawal daw ang mataba sa jeep niya,’ sabi niya. ‘Bumaba ka, ayaw daw ng asawa ko’,” kuwento ni Gutierrez.

“Sabi pa ng babae na asawa niya, ‘Mafflatan’ daw sila kakabyahe lang daw nila ng 2 linggo lang daw ‘yung jeep nila,” saad pa niya.
