Nanumpa na sa senado ang Kapuso star at fashion socialite na si Heart Evangelista bilang bagong pangulo ng "Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI)."

Sa pangunguna mismo ng mister na si Senate President Chiz Escudero, nanumpa si Heart kasama ang iba pang mga misis ng mga senador sa kanilang mga tungkulin at posisyon sa nabanggit na socio-civic group nitong araw ng Miyerkules, Hunyo 5.

Bukod kay Heart, sasamahan siya ng bagong set of officers gaya nina Kathryna Pimentel (Vice President), Maricel Tulfo (Secretary), Neil Llamanzares (Asst. Secretary), Lani Mercado-Revilla (Treasurer), Emmeline Vilar (Legal Counsel), Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla at Nancy Dela Rosa (PRO).

Sa kaniyang Instagram post ay nagpasalamat si Heart sa suportang natanggap niya sa bagong tungkulin niya sa senado.

As I stand side by side with these men and women - my fellow spouses and officials who were involved in SSFI long before me, I could not help but be grateful for welcoming and supporting me in this challenging journey ahead. As I have said during our very first meeting, l am ready to honor the challenge of working together to find ways to uplift our people and our communities," aniya.

"The legacies left by all the ladies before me, a treasure of stories and testaments of service to the nation is something that encourages me to continue what they have started - to make a difference and to inspire not only SSFl members but also individuals and groups who have the power to do something in improving the lives of people around us," dagdag pa niya.

Ang SSFI ay itinatag noong 1987 ng mga asawa ng mga senador bilang isang non-stock-non-profit organization, para sa iba't ibang socio-civic at humanitarian projects.
