Ikinalungkot ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang pagpanaw ni Cavite 4th district Rep. Elpidio "Pidi" Barzaga Jr. nitong Sabado, Abril 27.

Pumanaw si Barzaga nitong Sabado ng tanghali sa edad na 74 sa California, USA, pag-anunsyo ng kaniyang pamilya.

Sa isa namang pahayag, sinabi ni Romualdez na nawalan ang Kamara ng isang “great legal thinker” at “smart number-cruncher” dahil sa pagkawala ni Barzaga.

“We are deeply saddened by Cong Pidi’s passing. The House of Representatives has just lost a great legal thinker and a smart number-cruncher,” ani Romualdez.

Sinabi rin ng House leader na aalalahanin nila si Barzaga bilang kanilang kapwa-mambabatas na madaling malapitan lalo na pagdating sa mga “legal advice.”

“I myself consulted him on a number of legal issues. He was always lending a helping hand. We will also remember him as an indefatigable lawmaker who made it a point to attend sessions and participate actively in committee hearings with extensive preparations,” saad ni Romualdez.

“Our prayers and thoughts go to Cong. Pidi’s family, especially his wife Mayor Jenny Barzaga, his sons and his constituents,” dagdag pa niya.
