Nanawagan si Senador Risa Hontiveros sa Philippine National Police (PNP) na pabilisin na ang pag-aresto kay Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Sa isang panayam ng Radio DZBB na inulat ng Manila Bulletin nitong Linggo, Abril 21, hinikayat ni Hontiveros ang bagong PNP chief na si Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil na siguruhin ang pagkaaresto kay Quiboloy, na nahaharap sa mga kasong tulad ng sexual abuse, human trafficking, at labor violations.
Binanggit din ng senadora at chairperson ng Senate Committee on Women, Children Family Relations and Gender Equality na tatlo na ang arrest warrants na inihain laban sa pastor.
“There are already three arrest warrants served against him, one from a Davao City court, the other from a Pasig court, and that is for a non-bailable offense, and the Senate’s own arrest warrant,” ani Hontiveros.
“But until now he still can’t be secure. He still hasn’t been arrested, that’s why I call on our new PNP Chief Marbil for the PNP to step up. Because there must have been a failure of intelligence, that’s why they can’t find the whereabouts of Quiboloy so he can be arrested,” dagdag pa niya.
Samantala, muli ring nanawagan si Hontiveros sa PNP na kanselahin na ang firearms license ni Quiboloy at mga kapwa akusado nito matapos mag-viral sa social media kamakailan ang mga video at larawan ng pastor at private army nito.
Matatandaang noong Marso 19 nang lagdaan ni Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri ang “arrest order” laban kay Quiboloy.
