Naglabas ng pahayag si Senator Chiz Escudero kaugnay sa sasakyan niyang naka-plaka sa kaniya na dumaan sa EDSA Carousel bus lane noong Huwebes ng umaga, Abril 11.
Sa pahayag ni Escudero nitong Biyernes, Abril 12, humingi siya ng paumanhin sa publiko at sa kaniyang mga kapuwa senador.
“I apologize to the public and my colleagues in the Senate for this oversight. Moving forward, I commit to ensure that the protocol plates entrusted to me are used appropriately, consistent with provisions of Executive Order No. 56, s. 2024,” pahayag ni Chiz.
Paliwanag niya, “unauthorized” umano ang paggamit sa No. 7 protocol plate dahil minamaneho raw ang sasakyan ng driver ng family member niya.

"I have directed the driver to appear before the LTO to comply with the show-cause order issued to him and to answer the charges he faces for the violation," aniya.
"I do not personally use the protocol license plates issued to me, and forthwith the protocol plates involved in the incident will be surrendered to the LTO," dugtong pa ng senador.
Samantala, pinuri naman ni Escudero ang mga awtoridad dahil sa pagpapatupad ng traffic rules at regulation sa Metro Manila nang walang pinipiling uri o posisyon sa lipunan.
